Set in the serene forests of Scania County, Sweden, Bommeryd is a 10-acre estate once owned by the Waysmith family. Designed by architect Algot Johansson in 1916, the 18-bedroom manor became a cultural and familial haven—home to seasonal hunts, art exhibitions, and black-tie garden gatherings.

One of its most enduring contributions was the maintenance of a community psychiatry located on the grounds. Operated in partnership with the local council, the center served as a place of care and recovery for individuals seeking support with psychiatric conditions—reflecting the family’s commitment to social impact and compassionate stewardship.

Though Bommeryd is no longer under family ownership, it remains a lasting emblem of the Waysmith legacy: a place where beauty, creativity, and healing once converged in the quiet heart of the Swedish countryside.
